DODDRIDGE, Ark. (AP) - A 7-year-old boy who fell into an abandoned water well in southwest Arkansas was rescued by a cowboy from a nearby ranch who used a lariat to lift the boy to safety.
Miller County authorities said Reed Nations lassoed the boy out of the well before the rescuers summoned by the boy's grandmother could arrive.
Eligible ranchers and livestock producers can being applying for benefits through the Livestock Indemnity Program provided in the 2008 Farm Bill Monday. "This program will provide livestock producers with a vital safety net to help them overcome the damaging financial impact of natural disasters," Indiana Acting State Executive Director for USDA Farm Service Agency Don Hunton said.
